Go to a few of the dealerships nearest to you and ask what the best deal and after sale care that you can get.  See if you can bargain and perhaps get the gear thrown in with the purchase of the bike.  Shop around.

if you are in California Out the Door cycle sports can give you good deals.

look in cycle trader, they have great deals on used bikes!

if your looking for gear wait until the 2009 gear comes out ( out now ), get a RacerX or TransworldMX for 2009 sept. or nov.magazine from the supermarket and take a look in that to see 2008 close out deals.  The Stores with close out deals will most likely have the website you can order the deals from.
