There is no breeders in my area and I have no idea where the local shelter is. There is one but they only have cats and dogs and I like rodents, and rabbits

  1. Petco and Petsmart are pretty much the same! The quality of the pet depends on the people who work their. Some workers mistreat the animals on the some pets stores. But before you buy a rodent or rabbit, first check if he is healthy by checking their fur and if they are active. Rodents like hamsters are active all evening. I personally got my cage and accessories at Petsmart and got my Roborovski hamster at Petco because the animals look way more healthy at Petco than at Petsmart.

    Your decision,

    Good Luck!

  2. My friend bought a rat from petco, and it was not clean and very mean.

We each bought one from Petsmart and both were friendly and clean and healthy.

    So I know from expirience.

(I have no idea what that third place is)

  3. I would say Petsmart, or if you have a Pet Supplies Plus. I have never had any problems with either of them. My Petsmart is also vet assured so that is even better. I would make sure that the animal you buy looks healthy and is in a clean cage.

  4. i wouldn't go for any of the above.

these chains generally treat their animals like c**p.

try an internet search to find a shelter, or the try the phone book. if you can get on Yahoo answers, it really isn't that much harder to do a little research about your local area.

also try finding a privately owned petshop. they generally take much better care of their animals!

if you REALLY want a quality, well handled pet, i would seriously consider traveling to the nearest breeder.

my family and i live in california, but we drove to new mexico to pick up a puppy from a breeder we know and trust.

    quality should win over convenience.

  5. None of them. They buy from breeding mills and backyard breeders.

    Adopt http://www.petfinder.com/

  6. Petsmart

  7. i have had the best luck with petco but its not really the store you go to its the staff there i would go to each place and just ask some genral qusetions on what ever animal you are looking to buy and see what store is the most expereanced and knows what they are talking about

    good luck!

  8. It doesn't matter, these locations are chains so the conditions can vary greatly. Where ever you go, don't buy an animal that has gunky eyes or patchy fur. Make sure the enclosure the animal is being kept in is clean and that it has fresh food and water available.

  9. petsmart

atleast in vacville CA because they actuallyshow concern and interest

petco people treat there animals as merchaindis only

as far as pet land i've never hear of it....

but check all of them out and ask questions on the animals your going to buy from them whom ever seems more intersted and has more knowledge go with them

also you can always adopt althought it is harder to find small ones like mice and hammys but rats and guinea pigs are easier to find

    check out petfinder.com

  10. i like to get things from Petland. they are a great place. i have the same problem. I got my hamster from Petsmart and my Gerbils from Petland. I only go to Petsmart for the bigger things like bulk bedding and other things in that range.

    PETLAND ROCKS!!!
