  1. Dead or alive?

  2. Try KFC

  3. A FARMER MIGHT BE A GOOD IDEA.

  4. Try a farmers market, dont know how much they cost or look in the local press, they sometimes sell them

  5. "Murray Mcmurray" sells many different varieties of day old chickens and other fowl.  They have some really neat looking birds if you are just raising them for a hobby.  I've had great luck with them the past 5 years.

  6. I have some eggs going in an incubator this week, sadly all the chicks are spoken for already.

Have a look on: http://www.adtrader.co.uk/ and look in the livestock section.

Expect to pay about £8 to £10 for a good variety.

Another way of getting hens is to look for 'Chicken Rescues' where battery farm hens are no longer wanted by the farm. They are often 'renewed' every 18 months to keep egg production up but a good hen has about five years of eggs in her.

  7. Netto !
