Where is the best place to buy furniture and appliances in Mazatlan?

Depends on what you are after, Fabricas de Francia, Coppel,and Muebles California are all good. There is  Muebles Epoca and Muebles Tonala, they both have good selections and will also do custom work. Concordia is about 40 minutes and there are several places there. Guadalajara is only about a 4-5 hour drive and there you can buy about anything you can imagine.

You can buy things at Elektra or El palacio de hierro (which is what I prefer).  We furnished and bought appliances for our vacation home in Mazatlan at el Palacio de hierro.
