Where is the best place to camp in ireland?

The campsite at Westport House in Co. Mayo is excellent http://www.westporthouse.ie/camping.htm

.  There is another campsite nearby in an area with a nice beach but for the life of me I cant remember it - begins with an 'L'.  Donegal is lovely but there are surprisingly few campsites that allow tents there - mostly want families with caravans.

We just got back from our week long stay in Ireland, and John's place

here in Camp was by far our favorite place to stay of the week. He is

so welcoming and hospitable, but his place is amazing. You couldn't ask for a better view anywhere. The rooms we stayed in were very comfortable and clean. The bathroom was very nice and had everything we needed, and very spacious. Breakfast was excellent (although we didn't eat very much, since we had such a good time the night before at the very friendly Junction Bar across the street, haha).

Breakfast is served in a very big room with leather furniture and a big tv for lounging, but in the morning the view is just amazing!John was so helpful with directions and anything else we needed. The true Irish experience here. I can't say enough about John or his beautiful place. Thanks!"

Camping?  In Ireland?   You must be mad!   It never stops raining.

In Wicklow, went camping in a woods there last year, currently looking for somewhere new.

I swear to God tho!! If you leave cans or burn the place I will hunt you down!!!! I hate the way people dont dig pits and just leave their rubbish there, it means NO1 can ever camp there again!!! Leave no trace remember???
