  1. Alaska, with Princess Cruises. Definitely one of the places you have to see in your lifetime.

  2. Hey, I would have to say Half moon cay.. they place is paradise. I went on Carnival last year. Even though I've gone to a lot of great places, Bermuda, St. Thomas, Aruba, Cuba, etc... I felt I was in heaven when I saw Half moon cay. It's a small island (no houses, hotels, nothing!) and they beach is the most gorgeous beach my eyes have seen. Check it out at carnival.com. Go to eastern caribbean and click on Half moon cay... it's a dream!

  3. The choices for great cruise vacations are constantly growing: the Caribbean has three options:

    - Eastern, (generally; San Juan, St. Thomas, St. Martin, Nassau - this is my wife's favorite for shopping)

    - Western ports (generally; Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel - usually more adventurous shore excursions).

    - Southern (generally some combination of: St. Thomas, St. Martin, Antigua, St. Lucia, Barbados, Aruba, and Curacao - this is my favorite), you'll need to fly to San Juan.

Then there's Alaska, Panama Canal, Mexican Riviera, Trans-Atlantic, Trans-Pacific, Hawaii, South Pacific, the Orient, Europe (too many options to list here), and a growing popularity for European River Cruising and Barging.

The next question is how structured you want your cruise to be. Most ocean cruise lines have "assigned" dining times and various dress codes for dinner (formal nights, casual nights, etc.). Others have "Freestyle" or "Personal Choice" Dining. In other words, they have 4-8 restaurants for you to choose from, and you eat when, where, and with whom you want - and dress as casual as you please.

Your budget does come in to play in both departure city and cabin selection. A quick scale, from least expensive to most expensive cabin types is: Inside; Oceanview; Balcony; Suite. The best location for least motion is as close to mid-ship as possible - another factor that not too many people realize is that the higher decks have more motion than the lower decks.

As far as what's included and what's not included in your cruise price, here's a little guide:

    - Included - Ship accommodations, ocean transportation, most meals, coffee/tea/juices, most entertainment, and port taxes.

    - Not Included - Any item of a personal nature including but not limited to: alcoholic beverages, spa and salon treatments, specialty coffees, shore excursions, gratuities, air transportation, transfers, photographs, medical services,

Some final thoughts; 1) make sure you use a good travel agent; 2) ask your travel agent to price out "Celebrity Cruise Line" for you - absolutely the best (our personal favorite!); and 3) remember that August - October is hurricane season in the Caribbean.

Have fun - planning is a big part of the enjoyment!

  4. Jamaica!

  5. Celebrity or Royal Caribbean are the best cruise lines ever I swear they are the best and I had an awesome time, and the Mexican Rivera and Eastern caribbean is awesome, especially St. Thomas in the caribbean, and St. Martin/St. Maarten, and the Mexican Rivera is so much fun, along with cruises going up and down the California coast, and Hawaii, and Europe are also beautiful places but are very exspensive.

  6. Is Bermuda in the Bahamas? If not, I've always wanted to go to the Bahamas!!! Just to s****. dive with all of the exotic fish, and taste the native foods, and sleep in a hut, and swim underneath waterfalls....... And all of the Great outdoor fun, I've heard there are to do, out there in the Bahamas!!! Smile!! Have fun on your vacation, for us on Questions!!!

  7. alaska?

  8. Here are some that we loved. All have wonderful beaches.

St Lucia: See the Pitons and drive through volcano

Barbados: Stop at The Boat Yard for great beach fun

US and BVI's (BVI are better): Take a catamaran day sail to the uninhabited BVI's. Th most beautiful sights I have ever seen!

Grenada: water clearer than anywhere I have ever seen. And the spices!!!!

We loved Celebrity (1st choice) and Royal Carribean (2nd choice).

I am not a fan of Carnival. But remeber these are personal preferences.

We took a cruise on NCL out of NY last October and it was horrible (stateroom was infested with bed bugs) we are still in discussions with the cruise line.

We will cruise again (it was our 11th cruise). Just be more selective and vigilant.

All traveler cruise or land should always check their bedding as soon as they check in. (Do a web search. it will show you what to look for) We did not and were at sea when we discovered the problem.
