Spending two weeks, including a trip to chassagne-montrachet and Renchamps. Prefer quite cheap as would rather spend on other things!

  1. Hi. Well, Paris isn't an especially cheap city, but as a general rule, the arrondissements on the outskirts of the city are less expensive than the ones in the heart of it (i.e. arrondissements 1 through 7). The 18ème, where I used to live, is relatively cheap, especially if you're willing to stay in a not-exactly-glamorous but not dangerous area like Barbès-Rochechouart. The 19ème is probably the cheapest arrondissement, though like Barbès in the 18ème it's not exactly posh. Have you tried looking in FUSAC (France USA Contacts) and the Paris Voice? Information about them can be found in the answer I gave to a similar question: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

  2. Check out www.apartmentparis.fr. There are several apartments to choose from and at fairly decent prices. You could also check out www.ownerdirect.com or www.vrbo.com. They are also good sites. The only thing to watch out for are the extra fees. Some places want a large deposit, or for you to pay for the utilities, linens, etc.. Good luck!

  3. While there is a good selection of short term apartment rentals for vistors, if you are looking for cheap then you'd be better advised to go with either a hostel (http://www.cheaphostel.com/) or an inexpensive hotel.

For true rock bottom price in an actual hotel  almost nothing is better than the Hotel Tiquetonne at  6 rue Tiquetonne right in the city center. You can get a double for 50€ with private facilities.
