Where is the best place to find history on a house?

I need to find any information on past owners or if anything has happened bad in the house.

You can do a title search at the land records office... which is sometimes in the town you live in or could be at your county courthouse. You start with the address or the last owners and work your way back, although it won't tell you if something bad has happened there, just who the past owners were.

This information should all be at the county clerks office. Or you can pay a Title/abstract company to pull the information on the property that your inquiring about.

Check with the county. Some counties also have online sources for like the last 10 years.

Property records would have the current owners.  However, I am certain they do not have the information on any crime committed at that address.  You could try your local newspaper archives and check the address too.
