i don't want to go to places like little india or chinatown nor want to have to go to seedy karaoke bars. i want to know for a night out wth fellow poor university students.

Go to Little India go to any provision shop, ask for a bottle of Todi. its from the coconut tree. You can see the foreign workers lying in backlane, drunk.

i don't think there's anywhere cheap. you could save by going for free parties (www.whosgoing.com.sg) and spend it on drinks.
