Where is the best place to go in Spain during August at the best price for 1 adult and 2 children?

The dates for the proposed holiday are 16th - 26th August - with a little flexibility as regards dates but only a day or 2 either side of departure and return. We would like to fly from Manchester Airport to Spain or another Spanish speaking country but not the Canaries

Barcelona and the Baleric Islands. depending how you travel. There are a lot of nice villages on the sea coast and you will always meet english speaking people if you do not speak Spanish. I lived there in that area over a year. You have the Ramblas in barcelona and many nice Museums,Picasso and others. Place Catalonia. good food. try out the paella. Yum Yum.

Do you want beaches - If yes then Malaga is great and you can do day trips to Granada, Seville etc

Otherwise I recommend the north, towns like Santander and San Sebastian on the coast or Oveido and Galica inland.

I also recommend Salamanca, Toledo, Barcelona, Granada (you can rent apartments here for about 300 euro a week at this time)
