I cannot decide between Eastern, Western, or Southern Caribbean. My husband and I are planning our honeymoon and want to go to the Caribbeans, but want it to be romantic and less touristy. Not alot of wild party people. Beautiful water and sandy beaches realxing....

  1. Bahamas

    Dominican Republic

    Jamaica

    Turks & Caicos

  2. Cuba, its beautiful and peacefull, beautiful beaches, awesome people, no rowdy americans,

  3. if you want less tourists and that whole party scene as well, then stay clear of most of the popular locations in the Southern and Eastern Caribbean (thats not to say there aren't selective places in the south and eastern that would suffice), but in the Western Caribbean, it is just beginning to gain attention and so you don't have so many tourist areas that have been bombarded by commercial business and all that jazz... jamaica and grand caymen have a lot of nice places but too touristy for my blood... check out some of the newer untapped areas.... Belize has some magnificent places (from incredible diving and snorkling sites, great beaches, unreal rain forest that you MUST try the cave tubing through the rainforest, friendly people (poor but don't harass you for money like they do in mexico and bahamas)... another great place is Hondurus, which is beginning to become a must stop on many cruise ships now... so visit there now before the commercial developers ruin it....

here is a link to the cave tubing... http://belizecruiseexcursions.com/CaveTu...

    and another belize link:

One other country I would highly recommend in the east caribbean, is Dominican Republic... that is a gorgeous country with lively, colorful people but not drowning commercial (yet)...

I don't normally remark on other people's comments but I am surprised by some of the these places recommended... the cruise ship industry has overloaded these places with visitors (not all but some) and the residents and businesses have responded with T-shirt shops and "over the top" bars that are only for tourists.

  4. Go Anguilla, Nevis or  Bonaire

    Good luck!!

    Congrats!!

  5. For a romantic vacation, try St. Bart's...there are many beaches -- all gorgeous. Very little tourism, except for an occasional cruise ship docking, as the French locals restrict tourism to maintain the  beauty and  peacefulness of the island.

I have used St.Bart's Propeties to rent a small villa..they will take care of eveything you need--jeep rentals, groceries, restarant recommendations...see the link for photos/pricing; many are private and either close to or on the Beach.  We stayed in the Marigot area.

  6. Go to Turks and Cacios because it is a nice place and the people there speak English, good food, and lots to do

  7. The British Virgin Islands!

  8. I have been to St.Kitts and I had a wonderful time.

  9. Bermuda Triangle!
