Where is the best place to go on a Gap year and why?

Great question!  Sounds like you're in the UK.

Come to North America!  We've got scenery not found any place else in the world!

Wanna see an active volcano?  Mount Saint Helens in Washington State would be a good place to visit.

Depending on your interests find a place that offer activities that coincide with your interests.

Are you involved with your church youth group?  Maybe you could sign up for a year of mission work in another country.

Did you study French, Spanish or another language?  Perhaps you could go to Mexico or South America for a year and perfect your second language skills.

Maybe you could enroll in an American/Canadian college on a parttime basis and get to know American/Canadian kids your age.  Just come and live with your North American "cousins".  

"Gap Year" is a great way to span the years between high school and college/university.

Many kids in the USA do it in a casual way.  I like the way you kids in the UK do it.  It seems more formal and organized.
