well i will advice you to stay away from free download site cos usually these come with many virus or install adware on your computer with out your consent or knowledge.

iTUNES does charge people for downloading music. but its legit! so i think it's the safest! and the best!

I use LimeWire & Shareaza, but you can also try Bear Share. Be careful when using these if you have kids cos sometimes search results turn up p**n. For just £9.99 pm try Napster, unlimited downloads & plays, they got a vast collection as well. Since I found Napster I don't bother with anything else.
