Ritz is out of the question, $70 is a bit too much to pay per person! Any other really nice hotels where I could experience authentic English afternoon tea time?

  1. At Starbucks?

  2. My personal favourite is the Dorcheser but it does carry a pretty hefty price tag.

The Tea Palace in Notting Hill does afternoon tea at a reasonable price:

    And Postcard Teas is lovely.

If you're in Bloomsbury or visiting the British Museum, then the afternoon tea at the Court Restaurant inside the BM is a good choice.

Most of the major department stores do tea and the little cafe on the lower ground floor of Selfridges is a nice place to stop for informal tea and cake.

The best place for afternoon tea would be Fortnum & Masons on Piccadilly. It is not a hotel but a very famous store in London which has a restaurant area and tearoom area. The Dorchester Hotel would be very expensive more than any other place in London. I feel Fortnum and Mason would be very ideal place for you to have tea in London.

Store Location is still at 181 Piccadilly and have been there for nearly 300 years.

Green Park and Piccadilly Circus tube stations are equidistant and it is an easy stroll from central London's most salubrious hotels.
