Where is the best place to live in America ?

Please can you tell me where the best place is to live as i am planning on moving there but i have no idea where to move

Boston.  I don't know about you but I'd rather live on the coast than in the middle of the US.

Boston is perfect.  I'm sorry but there is such a thing as TOO MANY PEOPLE (ahem.. NYC...).

It depends on your financial situation.If you have money and want a fun,crazy,fast pace environment then try Southern California.Keep in mind the rent is very very high,as is the gas and utilities.

If you want a slower pace,country type living with cheaper rent,anywhere in the south,mississippi,alabama even parts of florida.Keep in mind the heat,humidity and bugs.

Texas is OK but some parts are worse than others.The rent is reasonable but the jobs are hard to come by unless you have a profession or know uncle so-n-so who works here or there.It really depends on what you like to do for a living and what type of climite you like,type of setting and people you like to be around.I've come to learn there are a lot of rude people here in Texas where I live.(San Antonio)

I've lived in Las Vegas,I didn't like it.Too many shady people,high crime,high rent,cost you money to get a job most times with the county regulations.I've lived in San Francisco,very high cost of living,rent,food all that.Los Angeles I also have lived in,same way,high rent for a dumpy apartment but jobs are to be found most anywhere there.

Personally,I seek a slower pace lifestyle,I would be happy with a place in the country with snow,sun,thunderstorms and a good job.You have to look to yourself and ask what you really want.Where you want to live depends on what kind of lifestyle you want.The USA has so many wonderful places from slow living to fast pace...go over your money situation,what kind of personality you are and go from there but don't get yourself into a place with  super high rent and no job to cover it.good luck to you.

Wow, there are so many wonderful places to live in this great country of ours. We have every climate, different traditions, diverse cultures, and natural resources that make all parts of the country appealing to someone.

It really depends on what kind of life you want to live. A fast paced, city life, with lots of skyscrapers and hustle and bustle? New York, Chicago, LA, Las Vegas. You can do or be just about anything, and will be meeting new people all the time. All these areas are very culturally diverse, and if you don't mind the traffic and can make a decent living, it can be a fun place for your 20's-30s. Not the best place for kids to grow up though.

A more calm, relaxed life where you can own a nice piece of land, have neighbors and friends who have lived there for generations? The small towns of the midwest are perfect for that. (Our choice by the way!) The cost of living is less, the people are really nice and its a great place to raise a family. Job choices are more limited.

Love warm weather? We have lots of great areas in the south, if you like it humid and green, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina are all beautiful. If you like dry heat, New Mexico and Arizona. If you want coastline and every ecosystem there is, California is the place to be. If you love snow and skiiing, 4 distinct seasons, Colorado, Utah, and Vermont are gorgeous states.

Tradition, history and ruggedly beautiful scenery can be found on any of our coastlines, with Maine, Washington, Hawaii, and Alaska.

For us, Sanilac County, Michigan is our number one choice. We have all four seasons, our family has been here for several generations, and our county was recently named one of the 100 best places in America to raise children. We have no homeless people, we have good schools, very little crime, strong values, good, hardworking people, the great lakes are all around us, and there are rivers, streams, ponds, and inland lakes everywhere. Its beautiful here, and we love it. The career choices are more limited, but most people still work somewhere for a good share of their working lives. We are starting to really get into alternative energy, fast becoming the second most used place for Hollywood films, and have a very high tech area around Ann Arbor. You can ski, swim, boat, hike, go to museums, theme parks, and great natural parks all over. People live a slower pace, but with high speed internet, we still get to experience alot. There are huge farms where we live (In Michigans Thumb) and we have schools of choice. Within 20 miles of our house are four distinct schools....one with an amazing sports facility and program; one with a wonderful performing arts program, and one with a "one room schoolhouse" type learning system that puts out the best college prep and business owners, as well as an inexpensive but good quality Christian school for up to grade 8. We also have a state of the art Career Center that trains high school kids to be able to join the workforce on graduation in fields like alternative energy, building trades, automotive technology, beauticians, chefs and business specialties. There are no traffic jams, usually only one or maybe two stoplights in a town, and your neighbors will do anything to help you out. Generations of our friends have grown up here, and new people in town bring their own interesting lives to the mix.

I love visiting the cities, especially Washington DC and Chicago. Loved NYC in my 20's.Love going to California, Florida and visit the southwest regularly, since most of my family now lives there, but Michigan is home for me and my husband. We love it here.

I would have to say NC. Not just becuase I live here but you have the mountains and the beach great wheather warm summers and cold winters w/o snow storms. Cal. where I came from has many earthquakes and price of living is VERY high compared to most states. New York is also nice but very expensive same as Boston. Raliegh NC is one of the fastest growing cities in the East but still has the down home country living. Medium to fast paced but just outside of Raleigh you can enjoy the slow pace of the country living. We have many large cities in NC Raliegh(plus were on Andy Griffith) Fayetville and Charlotte. Or you can go to a medium sized city as Rocky Mount which is about 45 min East of Raleigh(by the way is smack in the middle of NC or close to it) Beatiful state and great people. We have many very nice colleges Duke, State and Carolina being just a few. Average medium income is about 60,000  and you would pay about 150,000+ for a nice 3br starter home. if you are not from the USA then there is around 90% you will NOT be moving there. The actualy only possible ways on this planet to move to america is if you marry an american man, or if you have a job that is quite rare in the USA  (i dont know which jobs they are though)

I know this because i am from England and i have always wanted to move to the USA but it is like impossible for me!

If you're looking for the best available job market then I'd say Arizona or Nevada.  They're booming right now.

If you're looking for the best weather and climate then I'd say Florida on the Gulf side.  The white sands and blue Gulf waters are equally beautiful.

no, seriously, it would depend on if you like mountains, oceans, plains, valleys, tropical climate, desserts, colder northern climates, i mean do you want to experience the four seasons?  i live on long island, ny.  here we have ocean and bay and sound beaches.  we have snow in winter, changing leaves in the fall, spring brings birdsong and buds and blossoms, and summer, the sun and humidity.  we are not that far from manhatten that a train ride couldn't take you there.  in the city there are broadway shows, museums, parks and fashion centers.  schools of higher education abound here as well.  and, if you want to take a trip to the upper ny state region, we have the catskill mountains that are only a 3-4 hour car ride away.

Wow, hard question. At least it is for me, because I traveled the USA for 2 1/2 years. I am originally from Maryland, and just moved to Missouri. I personally say, do not move to the Midwest!!! I mean you may like it, but I hate it.  But then again you may like it, if you like tornadoes. I personally love the East Coast more than anything. We have a beautiful country, so maybe you could just throw a dart at a map. It is so hard to tell you the best place to live in America, after  I have seen all of it. I personally say Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Georgia, Rhode Island, Vermont, New York, Connecticut, anywhere on the East Coast. But then again I loved Michigan, California,Wisconsin, Wyoming, Minnesota, Washington, and Oregon. Maybe you should figure out if you want to live on the East Coast, Midwest, or West Coast first, then narrow it down to states in those sections. And also decide if you want to live in a small town or the city. I am from just outside Washington DC in Maryland, I loved it more than anything. I hope I helped at least a little bit. it depends on you i would think.  what kind of weather you want. if you want earthquakes, or snow, or hurricanes lol.  

If you like beaches and sun and mild to hot weather i suggest california the one downfall is the prices of rent, gas and everything inbetween.
