Where is the best place to live in Italy?

Florence! Florence is absolutely amazing-the shopping is great (a little expensive though now since the dollar is so bad), everyone is super friendly (accept the italian women of course if you're an american) and obviously the guys are hot. I studied there for a year and am planning on relocating there for work when I graduate, it's amazing, much better than Rome, Milan, Pisa, Siena etc.

i'd do a difference if you wanna live here for a while or forever.

For a while: i think it would be good in big cities too and move up several times: venice, florence, milan, rome, naples, island like lampedusa, north sardinia, pantelleria, amalfi, positano, tuscany country.

(you can have fun, hot guys, shops, nature, caos, relax, you can see different faces of this country)

Forever: como,lecco, parma, trieste, aosta, udine, trento, ascoli, florence, siena. they are beautiful, with high standards of life, many places whom work in, with high level of salary, nature, good shops, guys, and easy and relaxed areas.

the best place to live in Italy is Liguria... somewhere between Genova and La Spezia! There is a wonderful coast, people are friendly and it's not as crowded as in Milan Rome or Florence! It's peaceful for sure and the nature is amazing! If you're looking for a place ti rest and have fun it's the right choice... try "5 terre" it's a marine reserve and a paradise!

I lived in Italy from the time I was 19 to 24. We girls always dream of a place that you have described. Honey, I am sorry. It does NOT exist. I'd rather an island somewhere alone and have a private jet so that I could fly to the shopping destination. Everybody believes that Italian men are hot.....they are for a couple of minutes.....but sadly, they are trying too hard for that passport to America. I loved Italy and had I married an Italian, I would have wanted to stay there....and that is the only other country I would choose to live in other than America. American men are still the best........especially in your twenties.

But to answer your question.....go to Florence.

The best place is well away from the south of italy where the people is really bad. Drop Venice becouse is horrible specially in winter and Rome which is very crowded. the best place is on an island or on a mountain near the sea. I know it becouse i am italian and i live here.
