  1. Madrid or Barcelona, there are the best cities.

  2. Honestly, none of both.

Go to the south of Spain, like Granada or Cordoba, any city in Andalucia.

First, that's the real Spain, then, it is a lot cheaper down here, not as crazy like Barcelona.

Live in Granada is more relaxed, but you find everything . And it is great for teaching.

  3. The streets of Barcelona are alive by day or night, providing the visitor with a safe place for strolling around, whether for shopping, eating or simply passing the time of day. There is also 1 mile long city beach with clean soft sand, ideal for sun bathing.

    See http://www.spain4uk.co.uk/places/barcelo... for more details

  4. Barcelona.... I lived there for about a month. The price of living is about the same as Madrid, but you are close to the beach, near France plus it is an amazing city.

  5. I bet Madrid, or an outlying community would be less expensive than Barcelona. Everyone here is saying Barca, but I'm going the other way. The Spanish capital is beautiful, there's lots of history. It's the center of the country and the people, food, etc.. are great. If you live outside of Madrid it's very easy to get to the center of the city by train or bus and cheap. Barca is beautiful too, I don't think you can make a wrong decision, but I would prefer Madrid. Also, do you speak Catalan? Being fluent in Spanish may be more helpful to you, as it is more commonly spoken across the world than Catalan.

  6. Madrid, Valencia or Seville are more open-minded than Barcelona.

Valencia maybe the cheapest for housing.

  7. Barcelona. No doubt. Not cheap, though...

  8. As you can see there are always disagreements between Barcelona and Madrid. It´s always a kind of competition between them. In my opinion, They both are big cities so whatever you choose the cost of living is the same in both of them. Best place to find housing? I would suggest you to live somewhere on the outskirts, it´s always quite and nice.

And.. the main difference between Barcelona and Madrid is that Barcelona has harbor and sea and beaches and Madrid doesn´t, so just think about what you like better, not everybody likes the same things.
