Granada is the best place to live in Nicaragua for ex-pats. Followed by San Juan del Sur, and if you can learn to love it, Managua. Managua, the capital, does not have any street names and directions are given using landmarks and building (some of which don't exist and only locals know) so i know it is tough for ex-pats. Many friends of mine (which are expats) absolutely love Granada and San Juan del Sur (SJDS), they love the lake (bordering Granada) and the beach in SJDS, both have large ex-pats communities of people from all over the world, i have met some from Russia, many countries in Europe, a couple from China, many from Taiwan and other from Palestine, the prices in both these cities are also very low. 6 of my ex-pat friends have opened up business in both cities, they all say they love it here.
