Somewhere just outside the city [within 30-40 minutes car drive], upmarket, safe and scenic. Somewhere near a Timmy's would be good too!

Advice appreciated as I need to start searching for a house soon!

  1. I have one cousin living near Queen Elizabeth Park, and another living in Delta. Was impressed with both areas. Another cousin lived in North Vancouver, but that can be somewhat mountainous, although views wonderful.

  2. It all depends how much your budget can handle it. you can live at the beautiful ocean front houses at Vancouver's west end. A house around there costs over $3milllion. You'll have the view of the ocean, mountains, stanley park, and it's the most high end luxury neighbourhoods in the country if not the world. It takes you about 15 minutes to drive to Vancouver.

If you want an apartment you can get a decent one in downtown area for about $700000 or more with beautiful views of the ocean.

If your budget is lower and you want a house, you can also go to West Vancouver. Again, the neighbourhood is pretty high end and some houses have beautiful views. you're looking around $1million over though. The suburbs to the east aren't very good. you can try Langley though. Houses are cheap there and it's about 30 mins drive to Vancouver, I don't know about the view but it's mostly country type housings out there. Good luck.

  3. West Vancouver would be my choice, but its h**l expensive.

  4. We live near Metrotown mall  500 stores And central  to every thing

  5. Getting to the North Shore is a pleasant journey by itself. If you're driving, head over the scenic Lion's Gate Bridge for a breathtaking view of the Burrard Inlet, and English Bay. If you're taking transit, the Seabus, departing from Waterfront Station in Downtown Vancouver is a pleasant and scenic way to get to North Vancouver.

Among many exciting things to do on the North Shore , the Capilano Suspension Bridge

is one of the area's top attractions. The wood-planked suspension bridge spans the canyon of the Capilano River, at a breathtaking 230 feet above the water. There is nothing like standing at the middle of the bridge and taking in the splendour of the scenery above, below and around. Originally built in 1889, the Bridge is surrounded by towering cedar and fir trees of the Pacific rainforest. Be sure to check out the attraction's newest addition: the Treetops Adventure, a series of elevated walkways and suspension bridges allow which allow guests to walk from treetop to treetop, making for a unique and educational experience. Native art and totem poles and a well-stocked gift shop are also worth checking out when visiting the Capilano Suspension Bridge.

  6. it depends if you want to live in an area with flat land like Richmond, which is full with chinese people or a place like Burnaby which is cheaper. I would pick between one of the two.
