  1. Hi,

Well I work in Council Housing, and jobsgopublic is a good website but if you go on allhousingjobs.co.uk you will find a lot of housing jobs, that are in the private sector as well as Local Authority.

There are also many recruitment agencies that employ people, that is how I started, working for an agency but based in the housing department of a Local Authority, you gain the experience to be able to apply for positions within that local authority.

Remember that some Local Authorities do not own housing stock, they are managed by private companies, so you would have to apply to that company for a job in the housing department.

    Good Luck

  2. The Council? Seems a good place to start.

  3. council housing department

  4. Your local council office`s. good luck.

  5. Where you get money for nothing and chicks for free.

  6. If you can add up then take a tip Broomleigh HA in Bromley will soon be looking for a rent assessor once we have finished suing the idiot who can't count and has caused us 6 months of h**l with County Court Orders, just won our case and damages are going through the roof.

Either that or Liberata who deal with Housing Benefit as none of their workers can get an individuals Housing or Council Tax Benefit right, presently it's taken nearly 5 months, they state 28 days. Best of Luck....

  7. Council website or jobshop - you fill in a huge bloody application form to join the bank staff and then wait for someone to hopefully call you for an interview!

  8. Apply to the housing department of the local council!!

You can also try housing associations as these deal with a lot of local authority housing now.

  9. lgjobs.com, you can search by Borough on this website, Southwark is one of the Boroughs that covers the South East of London

  10. council web site they list positions avalible

  11. I know that my local council produce a weekly booklet full of their vacancies, they also may advertise at your local jobcentre try the website www.jobcentreplus.gov.uk

  12. Try www.jobsgopublic.com for jobs in the public sector.

  13. cleaning your house is a job

  14. You could try the council's web site. Many include vacancies. They often produce a free paper of council services which includes jobs vacant too. They usually advertise in the local paper and with job centres. Good Luck

  15. once you decide which area you want to work in, go on to the website under jobs, or go into the local council offices and they have a file (probably near reception) of all of the jobs they advertise, including some that have not been put in the paper or on the website.

Good Luck with your job hunting.

  16. evictions seem to be doing alot of that these days

  18. Try jobsgopublic.com - lists local government jobs, if you specifically know what you want to do and where then look, as stated, at the council website

  21. council website

  22. Behind the skirting board.  There's always hidden jobs there, some so horrible it's best putting the skirting board back and trying another council house.  Eventually you will find the right sort of job in somebodies council house.

  24. The place I would recommend for jobs is the Job Centre website where you can search thousands of vacancies, the website is below:

  25. Try the South London Press, Mercury, or other local newspapers. Or try the '.gov.uk' websites for your desired Borough. Although you may be better off considering work within a Housing Assosiation, so definately look in local advertiser papers or the actual website for Housing Associations like Hexagon, S.L.F.H.A / Horizon etc.
