Where is the best place to mount my subs in my Discovery 2?

I have a discovery 2 and i just recently baught 2 10 inch subs. I didnt not think about where to mount them. I could mount them in the back but i have a dog and the subs could get ruined buy him being in the back they could also take space away from him. Im not to worried about the space thing just about them being ruined.

Yer best bet is a down fire enclosure dog cant touch the cones.buy or build the enclosure pick up some 1 by 2's from the hard ware store cut and mount 3 sides leaving one side 2 vent. 1 by 2 inch wood mount to same side as woofers so when you face the box down the woofers dont touch the floor. also check 2 make sure the excursion of your woofers doesn't max out the depth of your 1 by 2's(excursion is the distance the woofer cone travels to xmax)

We have a Freelander and the same issue with pets...  Look for something with a down-firing enclosure to keep 'em away from the subs.  Below is a link to a website that will give you an idea of what I'm describing.  (Just click on the Mirage - SUV's link on the left side of the page.)
