  4. If you're in Seattle, this depends on what you're writing and what age you are; however, if you are a younger person (high school student, etc.), you could consider stopping by 826 Seattle. It is a nonprofit organization started by Dave Eggers that helps students up to age 18 get feedback on creative writing as well as writing for school(http://www.826seattle.org/). People online can be pretty harsh unless you're dealing with people who have taken courses in creative writing and/or are well-versed in giving constructive criticism (read: criticism that actually helps you out instead of making you feel lousy). Unfortunately, there aren't that many reputable sites (that I've heard of) that offer free, good advice. If you are serious about getting feedback and if you are a student in college, etc., and want feedback on creative as well as other forms of writing, you might consider a subscription to Smarthinking.com. They are a tutoring service that also gives feedback on creative writing. They hire college professors and writing specialists to give you your money's worth. They do not "edit" your work, and they are very professional. They will never tell you "this sucks" or "this is wrong". Instead, they ask you questions about your work and try to get you to experiment and see things in a new way. If you aren't interested in either option (or if either option isn't an option :P), you might consider seeing if there are any free workshop groups that meet at your local library. Sometimes local writers lead workshops like these (or give free workshops to unversity students and charge non-students a small fee), and you could get some real feedback from real authors. Good luck!
