You should immediately sit this person down in the middle of your livingroom and have them explain to you what the crisis is about so that you can understand why they are concerned.  If they are unable to explain to your satisfaction, watch "An Inconvenient Truth" or "Six Degrees Could Change the World" on the National Geographic channel.  I suspect afterwards, you'll become engaged in the issue as well.

I think a free floating iceberg, melting away in the open ocean would be a good start. If you can add a hungry polar bear to the mix, it would be even better.  It would save a bit of needed concrete, too.
