In which beach around malibu or santa monica is it best to go and see the grunion run?

There is no way to tell which beaches they will run at. You just pick one and if they aren't there try again next time.

And for any doubters out there Grunion are for real!

the hardest problem is finding a sandy fairly level beach that will stay open after 10:00pm but when you do use light (strong flashlite, or three) to bring them in. they will come into the light I have seen, caught and used them for bait for over forty years.

A  New Yorker I saw the grunion run on a San Diego beach on Mission Blvd. Quite a site seeing folks out there at night with flashlights picking up with barehands all those grunions.
