Where is the best place to see the Perseid Meteor shower this year, around orange county?

I am willing to drive somewhere out in the desert or up in the mountains to get a good view. It's monday night, tuesday morning, right? From about midnight to 6am?

Mt. Palomar is good. So is the Anza Borrego Desert.

You can see them from your front porch.  Like Dr. Seuss tells it...  You can see them here and you can see them there.

But for best viewing, getting away from the city will help.  City lights wash out the smaller ones, just like the moon will be washing out some.

Dress warmly.  The later you are out, the better the showers.  Take along a blanket or chairs.  Face north - north east.  They are called the Perseid's because the shooting stars will seem to come from the constellation Perseus.

Just get far away from city lights and have an unobstructed NE view. The shower is already happening, but peak night is Saturday evening. Problem is, there's a full moon (or nearly full). This will hide many of the smaller ones.
