  1. Hi.

There are many places for you to go and things to do. Just remember, if your from the northern hemisphere it will be Summer here. So here are some options:

    1. If you wanna see our annual end of year fire works display, keep Auckland's Sky Tower in mind and in view.

    2. If you wanna booze with NZ's hip adolescents, head for the beautiful Mount Maunganui Beach (The Mount). But, expect to overcome the nights indulgence in jail (if you're naughty) and a visit to the local court house.

    3. You could have a better time enjoying a day at the beach with friends and perhaps a BBQ and light beverages to usher in the New Year.

    4. Really...I think you should go and do whatever tickles your fancy, doing things on impulse rather than planning can sometimes be the best. Remember, NZ  is one of the first significant countries to see the New Year.

    Cheers.

  2. I suggest my favorite place in the entire world:

Try the Coronation and Bath House Pavilion in Queenstown, with a dinner at "The Cow" in Cow Lane.

It's a quiet, hedonistic, serene sort of choice, but it would be my choice.

Queenstown is reminsiscent of the Swiss town of Lugano, or maybe also of Aspen, Colorado.

I love sitting on the decking of the old bath house, overlooking the steamer and the mooring boats on the lake, with the mountains in the back, trees in the wind, a glass of wine in front of me... and the whole thing feels so peaceful and so 1980s...

  3. For me personally - because I haven't been home in a while, it would be at my folks house surrounded by the people I love the most.

In your case - it really depends on what kind of nightlife you wanna see or adventure you wanna have.  Any of the main cities rock (Welly, Auckland, Christchurch, Queenstown...etc), but there are other places that are wicked too like Taupo, The Mount, Nelson & the Marlborough Sounds.  This is actually a hard question to answer, but whereever you decide to spend it - I hope you have an awesome time!
