My son really loves to race dirt bikes, and I want him to be able to get spotted, or noticed. Is there any where I could take him to be noticed?

  1. what state are you in....?

Try to do a qualifier so he can do the amature nationals. Try to do a qualifier for Loretta's. Do big events like the Mammoth Mtn. Motocross, Yamaha dealer series, any and all Loretta's qualifiers. etc.

If he is fast, he will be noticed.

  2. Hurricane Mills, TN   Every year the national amateur championship is there.  They have it every August.  This years is already past.

Your son will have to qualify at a regional level to get an invitation to race there though.

  3. if he's fast enough he will get noticed, word spreads pretty quick, the Lorretta lynns have helped a lot of riders get noticed, Josh Hill, last year, rides a factory Yamaha, Ryan Villopotto, rides for Kawasaki, get fast, work hard, lete him do it if he wants it, pushing for him gets him nowhere.

  4. hurricane hills races. i would kno.. my step dad does races and is kinda sorda known. hope i helped.

  5. Start off in local events to be sure that's your son's talent.

Please encourage your son to race,DON'T force him !

Many parents want the next Ricky Carmicheal or Jeremy Pastrana. It take alot of practice and dedication in any sport to be very good at.

As long as your son is enjoying the sport everything is fine !

If you are trying to live youself through your son or accomplish things you have wanted to do,then there is a problem !

I have sponsored a racer for the past 5 years and have gotten to know him and his parents well.He is now a 11th grader in school.Several times he has taken time off from racing because he wants to do what teens like doing but he always returns.

If your son ever decides he wants to stop racing ,then so be it.

  6. If he is doing well at the local level, then try some regional races and move up from there. Try to go to the big races such as the World Mini, Ponca, Loretta Lynns, and others depending on your location and ability to travel. Like everyone else has said don't force it on him I've seen some amazing kids get burned out in their early teens because of a pshyco parent. If he is good and does well at big races you'll have no trouble getting him noticed. Just have a good attitude and have fun. Good Luck.
