Where is the best place to stay in Amsterdam?

I am going to Amsterdam in Septemeber. Where is the best place to stay? Is there a downtown with lots of shops and bars? I am flying into the AMS airport.

psst...the best room in Amsterdam is the terrace room in the Gresham hotel. It's a standard double room with a roof top terrace towards the inner gardens of a top end area. You are close to the Van Gogh Museum, close to the Zuid quarter (with many good restaurants) and not that far from the city centre either. The room is very often booked because guests that come regularly to Amsterdam always try to book this room. When I was traveling to Amsterdam for business very often I would always try to get into this room, or I would stay in another hotel.

The staff in this hotel is very friendly!

There are shops and bars everywhere in Amsterdam.

is Hotel Orfeo. This hotel is near the Vondelpark so is in the City Center.

Prices are from 39 euros.

If you are looking for a luxury hotel you should definately go to the Krasnapolsky hotel which is located on the Dam Square! This is REALY in the center and at a great location.

A cheap, but safe and clean, place is Hotel Van Onna near the Anne Frank House. It costs 45 euros per person per night, with a free hearty Dutch breakfast.

There are a number of hotels, but in depends on how much money you want to spend on a hotel. I mean you have cheap ones and expensive ones. If i were you i picked an expensive hotel, because they are allways better.

1 good tip: Go to an ''van der Valk''Hotel. That is a company with hotels all over holland.
