Where is the best place to stay in Los Angeles?

I wont have a car to get around and will be spending 4 days in LA. I want to see basically the touristy things and might go to a theme park on one of the days, but as said will have to get public transport/transfers from the airport etc.

Any input from those who live round there or have travelled there would be appreciated!!

  1. Unfortunately EVERYTHING is spread out!  So, stay closest to where you'll spend the most time.  If you go to the beach, then visit Venice Beach.  That's like an unofficial "theme park" in itself.  Hahahaha...

  2. If you stayed near down town L.A.It  will be better for one reason that you will get the buses that take you to the touristic places easily but you have to be very careful. There are different kind of people there. you can take buses to go to The Observatory,to Santa Monica Beach,to Venice beach,or to Glendale malls.Welcome to los Angeles.Good luck.

  3. Motel 8

  4. Stay around the dowtown area...I stayed at the Westin Bonaventure (beautiful hotel) and the garment district is in walking distance from the hotel. Then right across the street is a bus stop, I took it 2 an outlet mall but im sure there's more buses going other routes to more attractions.

  7. I second downtown. There are shuttles from the airport to Union station downtown, and that's where you can take the train to various sites. Downtown is a little pricey, but they are really building up the area, so you'll have a lot of fun. I love The Standard. It's a non-stop party in that place!
