I have a brick ranch with an attic that runs the full length of the house. Do I even need to vent it outside or is it ok in the attic? I would think mold would become a problem in the attic. . .?

  1. If the attic is well vented it shouldn't be a problem. However many attics are not that well vented so just to be safe take it to the outside.

  2. Out a side wall in the attic is best.

  3. It must be vented outside. It doesn't matter how well ventilated the attic is, it will cause problems.

  4. By code, you're supposed to vent it all the way out through the roof. Or, you could put a 90-degree elbow on the vent pipe and vent it out the side of the house. But, don't just vent it into the attic. This may cause a moisture problem and will make your attic kind of stinky from time to time.

  5. Outside

  6. if you have soffits, the attic will be just find ,new homes today have bathroom venting to the attic, attics generally get to hot to create mold, hope this helps.
