  2. My favorite part of Paris is at Montmartre in the northern part of Paris.  They do have a fair amount of tourists that come there to see the Sacre Coeur Basilica and the tremendous view overlooking Paris as well.  Behind the church is the part that I like best as it is a place where artists gather to display and sell their art.  You can have portraits done there in a half hour or so, and some of them are quite good.  Be choosy though.  The ones that hound you usually aren't the best artists.  Just look around at the quality of the work on display.  I had a large portrait done of my daughter there.  It is absolutely beautifully done in charcoals.  It costs me around 40 minutes of my time and 40 euros.  It is now framed and hanging in my home, signed and dated, and very lovely.

There are also some inexpensive shops in this area and there are various cafés, etc.

I personally find the cafés to be expensive, but there is a place that sells good crèpes, and good fries that are reasonably priced.

Descending the stairs below the basilica and going down into the streets below is interesting.  This is kind of the artsy area.  I like this area of town.

By the way I am sure that the Eiffel Tower is on your list of things to see.  Lots of tourists wait in lines to go up in the tower, which is cool I guess, but I like to stand on the bridge over the Seine River which faces the tower at night.  That is my favorite way to see it.

They also have a planet hollywood in Paris

When we went there for dinner one time is was a lot of fun.  I know it's an american food chain, but it was pretty cool seeing all the movie stuff they had there.

Also we went to this History of Paris muesum kind of thing

    I really really liked it

MUSEE CARNAVALET - MUSEE DE L'HISTOIRE DE PARIS is what they called it

Other then that, we hit up the usually tourist sites
