My boyfriend and I are planning on taking a vacation somewhere warm in August or September. Maybe Cozumel, Caribbean somewhere like that. Any suggestions on a nice romantic destination and hotel? I was thinking of a cruise but I'm pretty skeptical about being stuck on a ship for 4 days! I want to enjoy to sand, beach shore and sun! Any advice? (We have already been to Cancun)

  1. First off, cruises are wonderful.  You aren't trapped on a ship.  It's a moving city with pools, water slides, servers and more food than you can eat!  You stop in port each day, so you can still relax by a beach too.

Now, as for the beach, I live in South Florida, and I can't think of a better beach vacation than right here!  Ft. Lauderdale is a popular beach destination, and there is a gorgeous beach, night clubs, restaurants and shopping within short walking distance of it.

If you are looking for a less expensive vacation, Deerfield beach, FL is an adorable little beach town about 20 minutes north of Ft. Lauderdale.  There is a very nice Comfort Inn less than a block from the beach that charges very reasonable rates.  That beach (and hotel) is also walking distance from food, shopping and night life.

Lastly, but more expensive, is our beloved Key West.  It's hard and expensive to find a flight there, you would most likely have to fly into Miami (where I would not vacation) and drive the 2 or 3 hours to get there.  Key West is the coolest little vacation island in the US.  It was built around people who just wanted to get away from it all.  There is a ton of history, food, cool old buildings and ghost stories.  It's fun and romantic.

What ever you do, have a good time!

  5. Petit St. Vincent is a 113 acre private island in the Caribbean. This is a beach resort that is perfect for couples who want to spend their vacation time alone with each other.

You will be staying in private cottages that are strategically positioned on the beach or cliffside so that you get maximum enjoyment of the incredible scenery around you. There are no televisions or telephones but there is plenty of privacy, luxury service and beautiful beach surroundings.
