  1. up north.

    its nice and cold)

    they love it<3

    so do i

  2. I live in South Dakota an I think it is the best. We don't have the really dangerous infectious diseases here like EIA. We don't have fire ants and poisonous snakes. My vet says horses raised in South Dakota can go anywhere, because they are used to both extremes in weather. They can deal with extreme cold and extreme heat, because we have both. We have good firm soil and good grass. Our horses thrive here.

  3. Well, te ideal situation would be similar to one of the trainers in my facility.

She lives here in MA right in the middle of USEA Area I eventing through the summer, and then during the winter where its bitter cold here and there isn't any shows she has a second facility in North Carolina near cross country courses and with the avalibilty of shows throughout her time there.

Of course though, this involves lots of money and you must be sucesfull to reason out doing it, but it is completly ideal.. An entire year of perfect riding weather!

But, i like it where i am, just north of Boston, we have mostly nice summers, not too many days you must skip due to the heat, we have beautiful springs and falls (and the shows start early and end late so you get to show in the nice weather) and although the winter is cold most facilities have indoors around here, and you get to ride in the snow [=

But as other people said, horses can survive nearly anywhere, and arenas can be set up differently (ie, in Forida they could do a rubber tire ring and avoid the sand.)

  4. 1ST OF ALL FLORIDA ISNT HUMID RIDE THERE IT IT ISNT SO BAD

2ND OF ALL IF U JUMP N COMPETE ULL PROBALLY BE TRAVELING THE WORLD

3D OF ALL IT DEPNDS ON UR HORSE TO TAke u to dose places

  5. Horses are very environmentally hospitable creatures. They can basically live and thrive any where unless they have certain allergies or medical conditions that require them be in a cooler or less humid environment.

Over thousands of centuries horses have branched off and adapted to the environment they are exposed most to, they then pass these traits to their offspring. Just look at Rocky Mountain horses who have strong hooves and an uphill build so they can climb rocks and steep slopes without being hurt. Or Icelandic horses that passed their fluffy, almost waterproof coats to their offspring so they can stay warm and dry in cold, snowy weather.

A horse that is healthy will adapt to where he is living. If you look at mustangs you will see that they have extreme stamina and strong hooves, because they are running a lot and going over rocks and gravel. A horse that is commonly exposed to those elements will develop the same way.
