  1. sit right at the back, i have never heard of a plane reversing into a mountain.

  2. The exit to the front of the plane, if anything goes wrong you can get out first, you have more room and you are far away from the engin lol. Good luck x

  3. the 2 safest places on any plane is either in the rear of it cos you never hear of it backing into a mountain failing that  make sure you sit on the BLACK BOX cos it's allways FOUND

  4. does it matter? just sit back and enjoy the flight as an experience in it's own right!!!!

  5. you'll probably hear noise where ever you sit but the best place to sit would be near an exit door, theres always alot more leg room and it makes the flight more comfy!

  6. at the front... the middle has the engines so very noisy and the wings arent a good place to be as you get fixated on everything they do.. i.e. flaps come up and down to adjust height and the vapour can make people panic thinking its smoke when its not,the back gets the 'feel' of more shaking/turbulance.

i hate flying too so dont worry what these say (if they are nasty)

    hope this helps... x

i go to the docs and get a low dose diazepam 5mg.. calms me down and makes the flight more enjoyable.. i advise not to drink alcohol though.

  7. do any of you kmow anything about flying  stupid questions if it falls out of the sky whops flying is the safest way of travel

  8. near the front (close to the pilots will always be pretty safe!) or an exit door.  Remember tho that you dont get to chose your seat on a Thomas Cook flight unless you book it in advance and pay extra money.  Exit seats are an extra £20 for short haul flights, £50 for medium haul and £70 for long haul. We flew with them last week and they gave us exit seats cos there were extra ones- so we didnt need to pay extra for them.  You cant guarantee this tho.

Remeber that flying is a very safe form of travelling so try not to worry too much about it.

  9. In the terminal, on the ground

  10. It doesn't matter.

  11. 1. At the back  -  they don't reverse into mountains!!

    2. Beside the Flight Data Recorder - They always find that!!

    Sorry  -  just couldn't resist.

  12. Go in the door. Turn left. Go through the little door to the room with all the windows. The seat on the left is the best seat on the plane.

  13. Hope you get the Airubus A320. They are usually for international flights and have a bit comfier seats (the ones in first class=amazinggggggggggg) and they all have TVs on the back of the seats in front of you to watch!

  14. First Class.

  15. Strongest part of the aircraft is by the wings. This is the least likly place for the plane to break up. However, if there was an explosion or fire, there is fuel beneath your seats that is likly to "go up". The wings also are the most "bumpy" place to sit. If there is a fire, you want to be at the back. Fast to get out and should have lesser damage. So take your pick and hope you make the right decision on that day should the plane come down.

  16. the safest and strongest place is above the wings, the noisiest is at the front and back where the air is bieng sucked into the engine and at the back where the exhaust is,

    the middle, above wings

  17. Doesn't matter where you sit, however the wings are one of the most safest places to sit because they can take an impact, all seating places have thier pro's & con's, try to aviod sitting at the back because you will find that it is more noiser, you will certainly feel less tubulance and less noise at the front of the aircraft, notice this is why first class is at the front of the aircraft.

I presume this is your first flight & enjoy your flight =)

  18. Over the wings is the most comfortable place.

Sfaest place to sit is in the black box section

  19. sit next to the black box.

  20. If it were possible, the best place to sit would be inside the

black box flight recorder. These things always seem to

survive after a crash. Why don`t the aircraft companies make

their planes out of the same material as the black box, they

    might be a little stronger.

  21. try to sit on the wing. There is less up and down motion of the aircraft. DO NOT sit near an emergency exit. Most of the seats there are less padded, and it's really cold at cruising altitude.

  22. Come on Craig - if the plane loses' all power and impacts with land or sea at 500mph it will not make much difference where you sit.  You will obviously hear less noise in front of the engines but the noise is not really intrusive anywhere.  Turbulence throws the whole aircraft around not just the middle or one end so if you hit turbulence where you sit will not make much difference.

Can we presume that this will be your first flight?

Statistics will tell you that you will be safer in the aircraft than you are in your own car on the road!

  23. i dont know the strongest part of these planes but id say the safest place to sit is at the rear.i dont know about u but i find the wing the quietest place to sit than the front but not sure about the back. proberbly the place u will feel less bumps from turbulence is the front. hope this helps

    P.S. its an Airbus A320 not a Boeing A320

  24. lol

  25. In front of the wing means the ride will be a little quieter and possibly smoother. Behind the wings is louder because you are aft of the engines.

The strongest place is the wing box: where the wings enter the fuselage.

There is not a specific place where it is safer but history has shown that the people sitting at the rear most of the aircraft survive more often.

I am a frequent traveler and pilot, and I have sat just about anywhere on a plane from the crew bunks in the rear to the cockpit up front, I never felt any difference as to the bumpiness caused by turbulence.

PS: forgot to mention, you can try for a bulkhead seat or an emergency exit seat if you're trying to get away fast. But these people suggesting seats near exits have no clue. Trust me, if there's a crash, you'll most likely be dead no matter where you are, don't even bother  thinking about escaping. You can't escape if you're dead, so focus on surviving initial impact. The airplane will be all broken up into pieces anyways. You'll have many holes and gaps that you can crawl out from. If the plane does not crash, aka, still in one piece, all airliners and airlines are designed and trained to evacuate everyone onboard in less than 90 seconds. Emergency exits are placed strategically so the chances of getting out does not really depend on your seat location. Your chances will not be hindered by the fact that you are sitting in the rear. (Otherwise, airlines will start charging for seats near an exit. Imagine the uproar...)

To sum up, for survival, sit near the back. For comfort, sit ahead of the wings. For a compromise between the two, sit on or 1-3 rows ahead of the wing box.

  26. on the ground.lol

u can't do it all at 1 time.

    safest-in the rear.

    less noise in the front.

  27. craig.  this is fact. dont ever sit less than seven seats from any exit.  but, at the wings, the plane is more structurally sound but thats where the fuel is stored.  so, upto yourself on that one, but again, no more than 7 seats.  also, when you go on the plane, conciously count how many seats you are in by tapping the number as you walk by them.  i do this everytime, so, if the plane crashes and their is a fire and vision is poor, i can just count my way out. also, tell you children and friends if they get a chance to escape - take it and dont look back.

  28. The area ahead of the wing is the best place to sit for engine noise.  The area over the wing is best when encountering turbulence but in case of a crash most of the people that have survived them were sitting in the rear.

    .

  29. safest place to sit.

Your chances of surving the impact resulting from a departure from controlled flight or a controlled flight into terrain is not significantly different in any seat.

However, your chances of extricating yourself from hazardous conditions resulting from those events are greatest in the emergency exit rows.

  30. According to MSN,the safest seat in a B757 would be seats 10A and 10F. Though these are window seats, there are no 9A and 9F seats to block your escape, and the exit doors are just a couple of feet in front of you.

In a A320(or mostly any other airlines)the safest seat is one that is facing to the back of the aircraft. In that quardrent you have better chance of not catching the fire.
