  1. West of Colorado Springs is Copper Mountain for price and terrain.  Brecken Ridge is bigger but more money when you add in gas which, now an issue; and BR is further away plus lodging etc...

I never cared for s****. Vail or Aspen.  I was a down hill Slalom and Super G coach for several years, and we trained on Copper Mtn. allot.

    Happy Trails!

  2. I have been to Crested Butte, Monarch, and Wolf-something, and enjoyed all of them.  But admittedly when I went to the latter two, I wasn't very good yet so my opinion of what's "good" and "not good" wasn't well-formed yet.

  3. I'd have to say hands-down the best skiing is at Wolf Creek Ski Area, just east of Pagosa Springs.  They get 465 inches of natural snow annually.

The other gem is Monarch Mountain, where the snow is abundant and the vibe laid-back.
