Where is the best snowboarding place close to Los Angeles for a day trip?

  1. Bear, Summit are closest.. or a bit longer drive Mammoth or June. Sorry to the poster above but, I absolutely hate Mtn High. There's a reason that you have to drive up to the mountains if you want good riding conditions.... that's where the snow falls... Saving an extra half hour or so drive isnt worth halfass conditions to me.

    Bear and Summit are both great, I prefer the park at Summit though and the canyons at Bear if there's pow.

    You absolutely cant go wrong with Mammoth or June. I'm in Escondido and they're about 5 hours or so from me but well worth it. Probably 2.5-3 hours at least, depending on where you are, for you but I'd definately recommend it.


  2. depends on what day you go. for me i like going to mt. high which is a 80min drive from LA but its very crowded on weekends or holidays. or theres mt. baldy, its never crowded there and their runs are longer than mt high but mt high seems to have better snow. then there is big bear/snow summit as well. driving to mt high you dont need to drive up mountains too.
