I would check Yelp.com for reviews of parlors - they are really helpful. Also, citysearch.com should have Best of Chicago polls with the top ten tattoo parlors for each year. Great ways to help narrow down the selection process. And, of course, if you see someone in your area with a gorgeous tattoo, ask where they got it and see what they recommend.

in chicago, there are a few tattoo shops uve prolly heard of. ink-in-um,

sacred art, the tattoo lady, china doll ect. do not do 2 ink-in-um 4 tattoos. i go there 4 piercings, but they only have 1 guy there pretty much and hes really xpencive 4 tats and hes no good. thts my biggest piece of advice. if cody was still working at sacred art id say do there but they fired him bcz he was too good, he was the only artist getting booked. the owner there, mike, is good and reasonable in price. but if u wat QUALITY work done, go 2 the tattoo lady. its on the xpensive side but the owner, not sure her name, is an increadible artist. i live in chicago and have been 2 all these shops but personally i found a shop in portage indiana that i go 2 now called no regrets. VERY cheap and VERY good work. its a long drive but its worth it.
