My family will be in Playa del Carmen next week and we have heard that there are caves nearby that you can tube through. A friend of ours thinks its at Xcaret, but the website does not mention it. Anyone know where they are??? Thanks!

  1. I'm pretty sure that there is tubing in the rivers of Xel-Ha, which is farther south, nearer Tulum.  Although it's not specifically mentioned on the Xel-ha website, people have posted on www.playa.info about floating on the rivers there with tubes.  You can snorkel your way through them as well.

  2. There is tubing in Xel-Ha, down a lazy river.  It's fun.  There are points where you can paddle over to the shore, get out of the water, swing from a rope into the water, dive from a cliff into the water, etc.  My favorite place in the Riviera Maya.  Great snorkeling too, with gear provided.  A must visit.

  3. Been there done that--at Xcaret.  they did have tubes when I was there, but look at the link below.  Maybe they had troubles with the tubes and it's only snokling now.
