I'm planning my honeymoon to Italy.

We want to visit Rome, Venice, Tuscany, Florence...the major tourist places basically.

If you have more let me know too please.

Anyway, which location is kind of central so we can drive to the other locations.

We're staying a week.

  1. A week is not long enough to see all those places.  Suggest you select one or two cities and make the most of those.

You don't need a car in Italy, and you certainly won't want to drive in the cities, particularly, Rome and Florence, and you can't drive in Venice anyway.  Better to take the train.

A week in Rome would be good and you'll have time for a side trip to the coast, and maybe Naples as well.

  2. hi

i suggest you to stay in Florence, which is in the kinda middle of the 3 cities you want to visit: Rome is in the center of Italy, you can reach it really easily with the train from Florence, the station is in the city centre.

Same for Venice: you need to take a train to Bologna, then you need to change and jump on a train to Venice, which is 1 hour and 1/2 of train from Bologna. Bologna is about 1 hour from Florence. Rome is about 2 hours and 1/2 from Florence.

By the time you stay in Florence, you also can visit Tuscany, the region where Florence is, you just need to rent a car and you can go to visit Pisa, Siena is amazing and go to the coast on the Tirreno Sea.

Sorry for surfing, i can't tell you where is ok to surf, but i don't think you could find spots in Italy where to surf.

Usually, italians i know they go to Portugal, which is on the Atlantic Ocean. Italy is a peninsula, all the seas that we have around are "closed" by France, Spain, Croatia, Albany, Greece and Africa in the south... it's hard for the sea to get "mad" because it's trapped. As you surely know, the ocean is open water, no obstacles giving his power to create waves good enough to surf...

Hope you can have a good time and congrats for the wedding! :D
