Where is the cheapest land in the world... suitible for living?

I am looking for really cheap land somewhere in the world… I don’t care where I have to move to. I just don’t want it to be too hot or too cold. Preferably all 4 seasons would be great but I can stand a tropical environment.

I currently live in NC and love it here but the cost of land is out the roof. I want to move away from it all. I have about 40,000 to invest in the land and I have enough to build a home and live happily for a couple years w/o working.

My problem is, that I want a ridiculously large amount of land... say about 2000 acres. I don’t mind it being away from civilization b/c I actually don’t want to be near anybody. I hate the sound of a phone and would rather not even have one.

The cheapest land that I can find so far is in the Amazon.

Does anyone have any other suggestions? I need the land to be livable but cheap.

Thanks for all legitimate answers.

No bullshit answers please or I will report you as a rant.

  1. 1-Out west of Qld in Australia

2-Brazil's  land is, without doubt, the cheapest highly productive agricultural land in the Western Hemisphere, and perhaps the world. By any measure, productive  land is extremely inexpensive relative to good agricultural land anywhere in the Western World.
