  1. Go down to Bankstown Sports club for the night and get everyone to buy their own food and drinks

  2. the prk or zoo pavillion

  3. Plenty of venues in Sydney will give you the venue for "free" as long as you make sure there are a certain number of people turn up? Some may charge you a small catering fee, as long as you guarentee the numbe of people, and your guests get some nibbles.

Where I wouldn't go is the Mars Lounge near Oxford street, as your guests get hit up for $12 drinks! Down in the Shire the Jannali Inn has a decent enough venue upstairs, which is cool. Plenty of places the city are central for your guests and go alright, like the Broadway Pub on George Street for example.

  4. call your council, they all have a list of local community rooms for hire ( these are always reasonably priced). for food you can either get a catering company - the cheapest ones normally advertise in the local paper- to make the food, it starts from a few dollars a head for say spit and salads. You can also go cheaper if you order pizza and some chicken and salad from a chicken shop.

get some nibblies from the supermarket.

i think that what really matters for a 21st is the booze.

  5. Look it up in the yellow pages or white pages!

  6. your local RSL or bowling club. The smaller the club, the better as they don't get packed out and charge heaps. It is also common practice nowadays to get everyone to pay for their own meal and drinks in lieu of presents. If you want presents, get the cheapest smorgasbord you can.
