I would suggest 2 different places if you are interested in buying XBL memberships. First, check out eBay. You should be able to get a 12 month subscription card (which includes an additional month, for a total of 13) for about $50 shipped (or e-mailed to you). Your second choice would be NewEgg. They sell their year long cards for about $5 more. Shipping is usually fast and cheap, but they won't e-mail it to you.

There are in fact some websites that give away XBL codes in exchange for you signing up and completing offers. I personally use www.freegaminggear.tk to get my XBL cards. I've earned over $160 of free stuff through that website and they actually will e-mail you the code. It's a pretty good idea, if you have a couple of hours to burn.

I bought 1 year gold subscription off e-bay for £30.

If you go there you'll defiantly find one cheaper than in the shops.!
