I'm trying to find a place to park close to the station i.e. 5-10 mins walking distance at a good price. Thanks for your help.

  1. Drive out to one of the park & rides. Get a Park & Ride bus into the station for £1. When you return get Park & Ride bus back out for £1, pick up car & Bob's your uncle. There is no free parking antwhere near the city centre. Cetainly not for 3 days.

  2. Which train station?there are two in central edinburgh.

  3. Burntisland, then bus, good luck.

  4. Parking in Edinburgh is ridiculously pricey, especially overnight. I think the park-and-ride is your best bet.

  5. City Centre for three days will cost about £30 or more.

Park and Ride is fine if you have time, but just 10 mins by bus rather than walking will take you to the edge of the restricted parking, so why go so much further to the edge of the city where the Park n Rides are?

For example: park half-way along Colinton Road where it meets the canal (opposite the Park Bar), this is completely unrestricted and from there the very regular service bus 10 or 27 will take you past Waverley Station in 10-15 minutes depending upon time of day.  There are similar options in other directions.
