  1. prices from a visit to Petsmart in the SLC, UT area... standard dwarf hamsters were $16, specific colored were $20, roborovskii hamsters were $13 (I've had about 4 normal dwarves and 1 robo) You may have a hard time getting a robo to where they will come out and play. The only hamster I've had any trouble with getting out of the cage was the robo.

  2. Petsmart $10-$20 depending on the type.  Get a Syrian, ie Teddy bear type. They live longer, are nicer, and easier to handle.

  3. petsmart

  4. Hamsters at petsmart or petco are 5-10$. But there are some rare kind that they have and its 20$. What a ripoff

  5. most hamsters are pretty cheap anyways. petsmart has a good variety of hamsters and rodents as well as pj's pets. most hamsters are about 10 dollars (not expensive at all for a pet!), but the caging, toys, bedding and food are much more expensive than the hamster itself. i believe black bear hamsters are a bit more money than regular teddy bear hamsters or dwarf hamsters. good luck!

  6. My best suggestion (and the method I used to obtain a hamster) is craigslist.com.  It is a person-person advertising website and a wonderful place to find a new pet!  It is very helpful because there are people constantly posting that their hamster had unwanted babies after they brought it home from the pet store and often times they are FREE!!!  It may take a week or two, and a couple of post/reading others post, but odds are you will find one.  I found this to be much better than a petstore because they my hamster was handled before I got her and was not timid at all!  Good luck!

  7. You can steal one from Petsmart
