  1. The ocean. lol, just kidding... kinda, you live in Alabama, it's most likely the Gulf of Mexico.  It has good beaches, i don't know about the swells though.

  2. Use the internet, I doubt many people here are familiar with any beaches near Alabama. Check out surfline.com, magicseaweed.com and look at surf reports. Use that and a combination of that and Google Earth. I just moved to NJ and didn't know where to surf, so its fun to explore the coastline with Google Earth. Good luck

  3. Wow! If you head for the Gulf of Mexico, you are only about 350 miles away from Pensacola. However (and I know the gulf coast surfers hate to hear this) there are very few ride-able days in the Gulf. If the surf isn't being chased by a "named storm" it usually just isn't happening. You are only about 450/500 miles away from the Georgia coast, but Georgia is the hottest surf either, the position of the continental shelf knocks down the swell in most of Georgia. There are some good spots north and south of there, and you are only about 650 miles from some pretty great northern Florida surfing (on the ATLANTIC coast). When you figure how far you want to travel, look up the different surf spots on Surfline, it's probably the best on-line surf information. I live in the northeast, about two hours from the ocean, but in the ccccold of winter, I frequently drive 650 miles south to surf in SCarolina. Good luck

  4. Pensacola Beach,,but they aren't really what I call waves.  It's more like storm surf.  Save up some money and come on out here to San Diego.  Good luck and good waves.

  5. probably australia or hawii as a great places to surf.
