Where is the constellation aquila located relative to other well-known constellations?

The constellations that border Aquila are Aquarius, Capricornus, Delphinus, Hercules, Ophiuchus, Sagitta, Sagittarius, Scutum, and Serpens.

As Eddie stated, Altair is Aquila's brightest star, Altair makes up the southernmost part of the common "Summer Triangle" asterism.  

In relation to well known and bright or large constellations, it  is south of Cygnus and Lyra, East of Ophiuchus, north of Sagittarius, and west (and a little bit north) of Aquarius.
