Where is the dipstick on a 2001 mercury 15hp boat engine?

4 stroke. The problem im having is when im going across the river it just cuts off no stumbling no stutering just shuts off. im thinking its over heating or low of oil.

Could be clogged water intake system or broken impellor. Does it pump water alright?

Dipstick is likely part of the oil fill plug.

they may not have dipstick. oil may have

to be mixed w/gas or have separate container for oil. if you can't find oil resevoir call any dealership or check w/someone who has boat and check with them.

the oil is mixed with the fuel. usually about a pint to six gallons. there is no dipstick. a quick shutdown is usually an electric malfunction.
