when the united states attacked Iraq they were protesting in the streets wishing death on America but russia attacks georgia and nothing! we actually went to the united nations and had a resolution passed and went in with allies. the process took almost a year! russia attacks at the drop of a hat and the europeans dont care. are they too scared to talk about russia? maybe they should be but they really need to treat the United States better because we are the only nation that can stand up to russia.

  1. I agree. We give Europe aid and they trash talk us every chance they get. When it comes to Russia, I think Europe is afraid of Russia so they keep quiet. They know if they bad mouth the USA we won't do anything because our troops are spread too thin. Go figure, France goes to Russia and they stop the fighting.

  2. they don't want to enrage the russian bear more, than he is already.

  3. RIGHT, Russia attacked Georgia FOR NO REASON WHATSOEVER. /sarcasm

Stop watching Fox News and get a clue.

  4. Their outrage is stuck between their fear of Russia (which despite Irishman's vitriol, was the power that destroyed the n***s more than any other) and their need for Russian petroleum.

  5. Europeans did the same think in the Balkans.

The different factions in the Balkans were destabilizing the region with their violence. Europe stepped in and ended the conflict. No doubt to the sorrow of some.

Now we are in Georgia. South Ossetia and Abkhazia want to separate. Just as Kosovo wanted to separate from Serbia.

Europeans recognize the process; they've been doing it for thousands of years.

USA is in the position where it has to be voiciferous just as Russia was voiciferous over the recent conflict in the Balkans.

  6. As you might recall, Europe (basically France then) did the same to Czechoslovakia and gave away parts of the country to appease Hitler.  History does tend to repeat itself as Georgia is being divided up based on the same argument Hitler used by the Russian fascists.  Russia is weak but will get stronger in time due to its large oil supplies.  Germany was weak in 1938 too.  The proper response would have been a full NATO mobilization but, as you have alluded, Europe has depended so much on the US for so long for its protection that their militaries are simply not up to it so nothing could be done by them.  Poland and the other new NATO members must be really apprehensive as Czechoslovakia had a defense treaty with France that was ignored (in 1938) and it appears that Russia has been given the green light further aggressions against countries that used to be part of her empire.

Europe has deluded itself by a hatred of its best friend and only hope and has been blinded to who its true enemies are.

  7. The outrage is there, it is in the diplomatic arena. I believe this is because they realize that what they did with the American invasion of Iraq was a useless exorcise. So this time they are doing something more concrete in the political arena with diplomacy.

If their last actions didn't work with the states what is there to make them think it will work with the Russians?

  8. I think they are scared of the newly awakened Russian bear! EU has little or no military to speak of. Their combined forces do not equal those of Russia. And Russia has a history of taking over its weak neighbors. Watch them all howl for the mighty USA to come and bail them out if push comes to shove.

  9. exactly and well said about iraq. the usa is the only country that is the reason we aren't speaking japanese and german right now and majority of the european nations don't respect us for what our past generations have done. people seem to forget about saddam killing millions of people which is one of the major reason we went in there. MCCAIN 2008!

  10. or, the USA allies will drop off like flies to join Russia and Iran,  Death to America.  i have a feeling that whole side of the world is sick of the USA.  Fear keeps our allies and/or  money.  if Russia and Iran are able to stand up to the USA, what makes you think the others won't switch sides to knock the USA off there high white horse

  11. Does this mean Russia instills fear in Europe?  That's good for me I guess. Trust me, the USA can try to stand up to Russia, but I doubt a complaint from our moron of a president will do anything. I'm sure when someone informed Bush that Russia was attacking Georgia that he thought they meant the US state and not the European country.

The US can't be treated better by Europe. America has an awful tendency to do stupid things, and Bush hasn't made our image any better.
