  1. egypt i think

  2. Yeah I'd say Mesopotamia, but it may not have been a public zoo.  Other Kings had "royal huntlands, " but no cages or pits or the like.

  3. All over the planet Earth. The best "zoo" in the world _IS_ the world! Animals of every species, scattered through their native habitat! Most people just don't have the means to visit the whole compound. No sarcasm intended at all!

  4. EGYPT:  The first public zoo was established by Queen Hatshepsut in 1500 B.C. in Egypt.  She had animals collected from all over Africa.

[Shulgi, the ruler of Ur (now South-East Iraq) made the first-known collection of animals in 2400 B.C.; however, it was not a public zoo.]

  5. Greetings from Mars! Hello. I just moved here from Mars, so I do not know much about your planet. Also, what is a zoo? I am going to go look it up on the internet, and I will be back shortly after I figure it out!

  6. The first zoo, in modern times, which still exists is London Zoo

  7. Collections of wild animals existed already in the ancient civilizations of Mesopotamia, Egypt, and China. In ancient China, wild animals, especially exotic species, held the interest of rulers and the wealthy class. Starting with the founder of the Shang dynasty (ca. 1500 BC), China's rulers built animal reserves.
