i would have to say Antarctica..

i mean no one lives there.

not a single human being

so it must be hard..

plus, its freeezzzinnnngg

my only question is...why do you want to know?

The hardest place to live is relative to what you define as hard or harsh.  

It  could be that without having running water from a tap in the home could be harsh.  It could be that temperature would be the factor of most concern.  Extreme heat or cold.  

It could be that with no electricity would be your factor.  So with all that considered I would say either Siberia or the Sahara Desert.  

There are other regions that replicate those environments but the conditions are similiar.  

So you have extreme heat, little if any modern conveniences, extreme cold, little if any transportation means other than camels or horses and many times the desert nomads have no electicity and search for an oasis for water.  They live in tents and trade for necessities that people in civilized areas take for granted.

People in tropical forests experience the same things but without the extremes in temperature.  They may have disease that would up the ante.

Take your pick and the reasons for being the hardest to live or even survive.

in my opinion the hardest palce to live is an island because on island there is no vacancy of phone and transportation.

Down in Antarctica, no food, people, nothing. Just Penguins and some fish.
